Together, we've launched an initiative that brings battery recycling to the forefront of our sustainability efforts — an easy, effective way for our community to contribute to environmental conservation.

Why battery recycling matters
Batteries are a crucial component of many cycling products, especially in our rapidly growing e-bike segment. But when batteries reach the end of their life and are improperly disposed of, they pose significant environmental risks — hazardous materials and heavy metals can leach into soil and water, harming wildlife and ecosystems.
By recycling batteries, we prevent pollution, conserve resources, and reduce the demand for the raw materials needed to produce new ones.
How it works
Recycle in four simple steps
Participating Beyond stores across Australia now host B-cycle battery recycling bins where you can drop off used batteries from your bike, as well as any other household batteries.

Collect your used batteries
Gather all used batteries from your home, not just those from your bike. B-cycle accepts batteries from a wide range of products.

Tape your terminals
If battery terminals touch, they can spark and catch fire. To prevent this, tape the terminals of used batteries. Always use clear sticky tape.

Drop them off
Visit your nearest participating Beyond store and speak to a staff member who'll help you safely place the batteries in the B-cycle bin. There's no cost to you — just drop them in, and we'll take care of the rest.
